Inter-Agency partners
The problems facing animals in Berks County can't be overcome by any one person or one organization. These problems also don't stop at the Berks County border. That's why the HSBC has been at the vanguard of partnering with other agencies, groups and organizations.
For too long animal welfare groups have focused on the differences and disagreements between groups and their various philosophies. The HSBC decided that it was time to look for common ground instead. By looking at common goals and working together, we are trying to make a difference in the lives of animals that is only possible through collaboration.
From our 2000 partnership with Berks Women In Crisis to form the PetNet program, recognized by Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government for innovation, to our groundbreaking 2005 partnership with the Safe Cat Network to address the horrible problem of feral cat euthanasia in shelters, the HSBC has been reaching out to partners in Berks County and beyond. Please note that the Humane Society of Berks County is a private, independant organization. It is not part of or funded by any other organization.
